Privacy Policy

Unfeed is built so that there is almost nothing about you for us to know. The short version: we never see what you browse, who you talk to or your logins. The only things that leave your device go to Superwall, the service that runs our upgrade screen: when you open and close Unfeed, two of your setup answers and the "years back" number from setup, how you use the upgrade screen, a record of your Unfeed Pro subscription, and device details like your rough location, language and iOS version. None of it includes your name, email or Apple ID. (The upgrade screen also loads a font from Google.)

What Unfeed does

Unfeed is a filtered browser for social sites. When you open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X inside Unfeed, your device connects directly to those platforms, and Unfeed's filters run entirely on your device to block feeds, suggestions and ads.

Your logins

You sign in on the platform's own website. Your usernames and passwords go straight to the site you sign in on: Instagram, TikTok or X, or Google for YouTube. If you use a button like Continue with Google, Apple or Facebook, they go to that company instead. They never pass through, and are never visible to, Unfeed or Greenbird. Sessions are stored by the system browser (WebKit) on your device, exactly as Safari would store them. Extra accounts each live in their own isolated session on your device, and deleting an account deletes its session data.

What stays on your device

Unfeed keeps small local records so its own screens work: your filter settings, time spent per app, counts of hidden posts, and your onboarding answers, including the name you can choose to enter, which is only there to greet you. These never leave your device, except the setup answers and the "years back" number listed under Subscriptions. There is no Unfeed account, no cloud sync, and no server of ours that receives your browsing.

What we don't do

No ad trackers. No advertising identifiers. No selling of data. Apart from what's listed under Subscriptions (when you open and close Unfeed, and how you use the upgrade screen), we don't measure how you use Unfeed. We cannot see what you browse, what you send, or who you follow.

Subscriptions

Unfeed Pro is billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Apple handles the payment and gives us no personal payment details.

We use Superwall to show the upgrade screen, test different versions of it, and keep a record of subscriptions. The first time you open Unfeed, the app makes a random ID for Superwall and keeps it until you delete the app. Superwall receives:

when you install, open and close Unfeed (the times only, not what you look at);
your answers to "Where did you hear about Unfeed?" and "How long do you scroll on an average day?", and the "years back" number shown at the end of setup (your phone works it out from your scroll time and your age; your age itself isn't sent, but together with your scroll answer the number gives a rough age range);
when the upgrade screen is shown, where in the app it was opened from, which version of it you saw, whether you tapped a plan, restored or closed it, how long it took to load, and an error report if it, a purchase or Superwall's own setup fails;
if you start a trial, buy, renew or restore Unfeed Pro: which plan you chose, the price and currency, the purchase and renewal dates, and Apple's ID for that purchase;
your IP address and the rough location Superwall works out from it (country, region and city), the identifier Apple gives this app on your device (it is different for every developer and can't follow you into other companies' apps), Apple's ID for your download of Unfeed (it's only for Unfeed, but it stays the same for your Apple account, even if you delete and reinstall), and technical details such as the app version, iOS version, device model, language, time zone, screen size and whether you're on Wi-Fi or mobile data;
once, soon after you install: those device details together with your IP address, so Superwall can check whether you came to Unfeed from one of our links.

It doesn't get your name, email, Apple ID or anything you do on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X. We use this only to show and test the upgrade screen, count subscriptions, see which of our links bring people to Unfeed, and understand how much people scrolled before. It isn't sold, and it isn't used to show you ads or to track you across other companies' apps. Your name stays on your phone. Apple also tells Superwall about Unfeed Pro purchases and renewals, so subscriptions are counted correctly. Superwall's privacy policy: superwall.com/privacy.

The upgrade screen also loads its font from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when it opens.

Unfeed 1.0.1 used RevenueCat for the same subscription record, with the same information or less: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Whether you have Pro is still checked on your device with Apple, so Pro keeps working even if Superwall is unavailable.

Keeping and deleting your data

Superwall handles this information only for us, to run Unfeed's upgrade screen and subscriptions, and keeps it only as long as that needs. You can stop all of it at any time by deleting Unfeed (and cancelling Unfeed Pro, if you have it), which also deletes everything Unfeed keeps on your phone. To have the information Superwall holds about you deleted, email hello@unfeedapp.com and we'll ask Superwall to delete it.

The platforms themselves

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X see your visit the way they see any browser visit, and their own privacy policies apply to your accounts and activity there. Unfeed reduces what they can show you; it does not change what they collect about your account activity on their services.
